The UK government's new visa policy for international students has been criticized by a member of parliament (MP), Carol Monaghan.

International students, according to Ms. Monaghan, a politician for the Scottish National party from Glasgow North West, are important contributors, particularly to the UK's economy. On Wednesday, she said that the UK government's revised foreign student visa program was poorly thought out.

She continued by saying that Scotland would be forced to bear the costs of the government's'misjudged' strategy. She claimed that international students improved society in the UK in all spheres, including universities, IT, and health.
