Man Sues Woman To Court For Calling Him Impotent


A middle-aged woman named Hassana Yohanna was hauled before an Upper Customary Court in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, on Thursday by a man named Jibrin Sawuta for reportedly calling him impotent.


Three counts of malicious insult, slander, and criminal intimidation were levied against Yohanna.


Sections 312, 371 and 376 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law are violated by the offense.


Sawuta said in a direct criminal complaint presented to the court that he was having a conversation with friends in the palace of the village chief of Fadan Kagoma when he learned that his brother had been taken into custody by the police.


On getting to the station, he said, the defendant emerged from nowhere and started hurling insults at him, saying


He claimed that as soon as he arrived at the station, the defendant suddenly materialized and began verbally abusing him, calling him impotent and the father of no children.


He asserted that after insulting him, the defendant abruptly charged at him.


She entered a not guilty plea after hearing the charge.


She then requested bail from the court, to which the defendant objected.


The defendant was given bail in the amount of N30,000 and one surety, who had to be a district head under the court's jurisdiction, according to the order of presiding judge George Gwani.


In order to give the complainant time to submit witnesses and make his case, Gwani postponed the hearing to June 19.
