EPL: WHY DID TEN HAG GIVE PAUL INCE A BOTTLE OF WINE BEFORE MANCHESTER UNITED'S LOSS TO BRIGHTON

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag presented a bottle of wine to club legend Paul Ince.

Before the start of Manchester United's loss against Brighton on Thursday night, the Dutchman gave him the win.

The gesture came after the former Red Devils player complained about a lack of respect during a game against Ten Hag earlier this season.

Ince, who was the manager of Reading when they played Manchester United in the FA Cup at Old Trafford, stated Ten Hag failed to recognize him, which Sir Alex Ferguson would not have done.

According to Ince, Ten Hag should have invited him to his office for a post-game drink after the game.

On Thursday, the former England midfielder was on Sky Sports punditry duty, and when Ten Hag went out to be interviewed on the pitch, the Dutchman handed him a bottle of red wine.

"I owe you one," said the United boss

"There's not always time for a drink after the game, but you're always welcome."

Ince said after Ten Hag departed: "That is a classy touch...But what a lovely gesture. Obviously it was playing on his mind."
