EPL: CHELSEA VETERAN CRITICIZES LAMPARD FOR HIS HANDLING OF N'GOLO KANTE
Glenn Hoddle, a Chelsea star, has slammed interim manager Frank Lampard for how he deployed midfielder N'Golo Kante in the Blues' 3-1 Premier League defeat to Arsenal on Tuesday night.
Hoddle said Lampard should have played Kante in a more defensive role against Arsenal to get the most out of the France international.
Chelsea fell to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, despite Martin Odegaard's brace and Gabriel Jesus' goal.
Lampard's side did get a goal in the second half thanks to Noni Madueke.
"For me, the midfield, I don't get (N'Golo) Kante playing in that position going from there," Hoddle told Premier League Productions.
"I see him as one of the best holding players in the world, defensive midfield players in the world still at 32. Do that job. Do what you are good at and then go and feed people who can go and play in those defensive areas.
"It does not suit him. He can't go and play on the half turn, he can't play with his back to play, he can't score goals from that position. He might come up with one or two from distance playing in a deeper role. You have got to play the right players in the right position."
