Decision Made By Pochettino About Lukaku's Return To Chelsea
Romelu Lukaku's return to Stamford Bridge has been decided by new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino.
After a disagreement with former Blues manager Thomas Tuchel, Lukaku spent the season on loan at Inter. He had fitness concerns at the beginning of the season, but he has since recovered his form.
The Belgian international, whose loan with Inter Milan expires at the end of the current campaign, has contributed to 13 goals and six assists in 34 games. He is expected to return to Stamford Bridge.
According to La Gazzetto dello Sport, Lukaku would rather stay with Inter Milan than go back to Chelsea.
However, the report states that new manager Pochettino wants Lukaku to come back to the team so he can assess him for his team.
After leaving Inter in 2021 for a then-club-record €113 million, Lukaku returned to Chelsea. In the 2021–22 season, he struggled under Tuchel, scoring only 15 goals in 44 games.
