Buhari's Camp Criticizes The Incoming President Over His International Travels
Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, has been referred to as the "selected one" by Atiku Abubakar's camp, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate.
Atiku's spokesperson, Daniel Bwala, made the statement while criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari and Tinubu's omitted presence from Nigeria owing to purported medical issues.
Buhari had to extend his vacation to the UK because of a dental surgery, but Tinubu went to Europe to meet with potential investors.
However, Bwala had asserted that Tinubu had been to Europe for medical reasons and not for business.
The medical requirements of Buhari and Tinubu, according to Bwala, may be met in Nigeria.
In a tweet, Bwala penned: "Tale of a country; two presidents. Substantive one and selected one: Both out of the country as of today on medicals. One calls his own dental care; the other calls his own official visit. Their medical needs can adequately be met in Nigeria's hospitals, public or private.
"Unless we establish a world-class health clinic in Nigeria, solely for those officials covered under section 308; the medical care of those officials paid for adequately by their respective governments, Nigeria's national security would forever be under threat. No joke."
