Bank Employees Murder The Debtor's Wife In An Effort To Recoup A Loan
The men of the Ogun State Police Command detained four employees of a microfinance bank in the Abule Ijoko Lemode neighborhood of Ifo Local Government over the death of Vivian Omo, 50, the wife of one of their debtors, on May 10, 2023.
The Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the event in a statement on Sunday, May 14, 2023. He said the bank employees weren't happy with the claim that the man wasn't at home, so they tried to leave with some devices, but the deceased wife objected.

On May 10, 2023, the men of the Ogun State Police Command detained four employees of a microfinance bank in the Abule Ijoko Lemode neighborhood of Ifo Local Government over the death of Vivian Omo, 50, the wife of one of their debtors.
"While the deceased was struggling with the bank's staffers, one of them p¥shed her, and she fell and was unconscious. She was then rushed to hospital for medical attention, but was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty," Oyeyemi said.
He continued by saying that the incidence was reported to the Agbado divisional headquarters by the deceased person's daughter, and that the DPO, CSP Awoniyi Adekunle, promptly led his investigators to the spot where the bankers Badmus Olalekan, Ajibade Oludare, Eniola Aduragbemi, and Femi Oloko were arrested. He mentioned that the body was left at the Ifo General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
