Address The Brain Drain, NBA To Tinubu
Bola Ahmed Tinubu's upcoming administration has been urged by the Nigerian Bar Association to address the nation's increasing brain drain.
During yesterday's unveiling of the association's 63rd Annual General Conference's logo in Abuja, NBA President Yakubu Maikyau delivered the keynote address.
He bemoaned the fact that professionals with training from Nigeria performed exceptionally well in a variety of professions abroad yet poorly at home.
"We, as a country, are blessed with all the potentials to get it right. But whatever that is bugging us down, it is time for us to identify them and it is time for us to find lasting solutions to them."
Afam Osigwe (SAN), the chairman of the NBA Conference Committee, said that the association had made all necessary preparations for the program to be held in Abuja, including subsidizing the registration fees by 50% to ensure that as many young lawyers as possible from across the country would participate. Those who were over 70 years old could register for free, he added.
