Access Bank Names Former NBA President Paul Usoro, SAN As Chairman

Paul Usoro, SAN, a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, has been chosen to lead Access Bank Plc.

Mr. Usoro has served as a Non-Executive Director of the bank since January 2014 before being appointed in May 2023.

Mr. Usoro is the founder and Senior Partner of the law company of Paul Usoro & Co. He is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

He is known as a highly skilled litigator and communication law expert with more than 30 years of legal practice.

He is currently a Non-Executive Member of the Nigerian Bar Association after being elected President for a two-year term in August 2018.

As a Non-Executive Director on the board of the former Intercontinental Bank Plc, he represented Access Bank.

The University of Ife awarded Mr. Usoro a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1981, and he was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1982.

He joined the board in January 2014, and he presently serves as the chairman of both the board's technical committee on retail expansion as well as its committee on human resources and sustainability. He serves as the Board Risk Management Committee's vice chairman as well.
