Man Imprisoned In Abuja After Stealing A Bible

A 30-year-old painter named Zakaraya Usman was given a two-month prison term for theft by a Grade I Area Court in Kabusa, Abuja.

Four Bibles, 124 church membership forms, bottled water, and Caprisonne beverages were among the alleged thefts Usman was charged with.

The Chief Security Officer of Living Faith Church's Durumi I branch, David Usman, reported the incident to the Durumi Police Station, according to the Prosecution Counsel, O. S. Osho.

"Usman reportedly trespassed into the church, and was accused of stealing three mini bibles, one big bible, two bottles of water, 14 Caprisonne drinks, 18 testimonial certificates, 124 church membership forms, security jackets, two shirts, two handkerchiefs, bags and some cash.

"And all the items were recovered from him during the police investigation," he said.

Usman admitted to the accusation.

In his decision, Judge Abubakar Sadiq sentenced the offender to two months in prison and a N10,000 option fee. And informed him that if he committed a similar offense again, the court would not be forgiving.
