RESULTS ON THE INEC PORTAL SHOW IN RIVERS, PETER OBI, NOT TINUBU, WAS VICTORIOUS
Mr Obi's vote total in the area suggests that he, rather than Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won the Rivers presidential election, contrary to INEC's pronouncement.
According to this newspaper, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received 368 votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party received 161 votes.
Mr Tinubu was later pronounced the election winner. Atiku finished in second, with Mr Obi coming in third.
Nevertheless, examination of the results from various polling stations in the 17 wards of Obio/Akpor LGA as published on IReV indicated a stark discrepancy with the INEC-announced result.
Methodology
Given that Mr Tinubu was proclaimed the winner in Obio/Akpor, this newspaper's analysis concentrated on the votes cast by the APC and LP in the area.
According to our results, the APC received 17,158 votes, while the LP received 73,311 votes.
