NIGERIAN NEWSPAPERS: 10 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS MORNING

1. Governor Ahmadu Fintiri was declared the winner of the Adamawa State governorship election on Tuesday by the Returning Officer, Prof Mohammed Mele. Fintiri received 430,861 votes, defeating Aisha Dahiru, popularly known as Binani, of the All Progressives Congress, who received 398,788 votes.
2. The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, ordered that Mohammed Barde, the Commissioner of Police on election duty in Adamawa State, leave the state immediately. The IGP also directed that the CP in charge of Gombe State, Etim Equa, travel immediately to Adamawa state to oversee election security for the hotly contested supplemental governorship election.

The discovery on Monday of a deceased stowaway in the wheel well of a KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Boeing 777 (registered PH-BQM) has raised questions about how and when the man was able to climb into the aircraft, which originated in Lagos, Nigeria.
