1. Yesterday, President-elect Bola Tinubu stated that he is prepared for the duties that come with being Nigeria's number one citizen. Tinubu made the remarks immediately after returning to Nigeria from a month in Paris, France.


2. On Monday, the Federal Government revealed that several Nigerian students escaping the Sudanese crisis were denied entry into Ethiopia, but indicated that the problem was being handled. The FG stated that Nigerian authorities in Ethiopia were dealing with the situation and had sought clearance for the fleeing students, emphasizing that the students' decision to go on such a journey was perilous.


3. The Labour Party (LP) leadership has stated that no agreement has been reached with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma. Chief Innocent Okekem, the LP's National Vice Chairman (South East), made the clarification yesterday, in the aftermath of a recent viral video indicating that Uzodimma may have influenced the emergence of Senator Athan Achonu as the party's governorship candidate in the upcoming election in his favor.


4. Mr Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the February 25 election and former governor of Anambra State, said on Monday in Awka that he saw no reason to rest after the 2023 presidential campaigns and election, arguing that those who needed to rest had a reason to do so.


5. At the Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu Square in Owerri, Governor Hope Uzodimma received four House of Representative members who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with over 3,000 supporters into the All Progressive Congress (APC). This comes ahead of the state's governorship election on November 11.


6. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced yesterday that Sudan's warring generals had agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire beginning Tuesday, ten days after killing hundreds, injuring thousands, and causing a large exodus of foreigners.


7. Irate youths allegedly buried alive two people accused of being behind a thunder strike at Ikyve in Benue State's Konshisha Local Government Area on Saturday. SP Sewuese Anene of the state Police Public Relations Office confirmed the occurrence yesterday.


8. According to the Enugu State Police Command, a 24-year-old man known as Agbo Onuabuchi was remanded in the Enugu Custodial Centre on Monday for killing and burying a 44-year-old ga4 buddy, Peter Ukekwe, in a shallow grave. DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the state Police Public Relations Officer, made the announcement at a press conference in Enugu.


9. Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has apologized to Taraba people for any offenses he may have committed during his eight-year tenure. Ishaku apologized at a thanksgiving ceremony hosted by the Taraba State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at the CAN Secretariat in Jalingo.


10. Chief David Obadofin, the traditional ruler of Aghara in Kogi State's Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, is said to have died in the custody of his kidnappers 12 days after he was kidnapped. According to a family source, the monarch died last Thursday as a consequence of torture by his abductors.
