'MY PROPERTY IN THE UNITED STATES IS NOT STOLEN WEALTH' SAYS KEYAMO

Festus Keyamo, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, has stated that his properties in foreign countries were not purchased with stolen monies.

Keyamo was responding to a popular social media video of a property in the United States, US, that was attributed to him.

The Minister was seen exercising in front of a rumored costly US house in the video.

Keyamo, on the other hand, verified ownership of the property and stated that he purchased it using revenues from his legal profession.

In a Twitter message, the Minister said that he was just trying to lure people he referred to as "sour losers" in the previous elections with a video of his holiday in "one of my properties abroad."

Keyamo claims: "They fell so terribly for the bait, they seem to view everyone from their depraved universe and assume everyone will wallow in the same moral squalor as them."

Keyamo explained how he bought the US property, saying he had written to the relevant government agencies on March 6, 2019, informing them of the closure of his foreign account(s) and the repatriation of funds to the country, "being some savings I had made as a private legal practitioner and a property investor over decades."

Keyamo explained that the foreign cash were in his accounts before he was appointed Minister in 2019 and that he later utilized them to buy the home.
