LA-LIGA/EPL TRANSFER: XAVI REFUSES AN OFFER FROM AN EPL TOP SCORER TO JOIN BARCELONA

Barcelona and manager Xavi have turned down the opportunity to recruit Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino on a free transfer.

According to reports in Spain last week, a deal had been reached between the Brazil international and the La Liga leaders.

However, Marca said that there is no such arrangement or "real interest from Barcelona."

Firmino reportedly offered himself to the Nou Camp outfit a few months ago, but the offer was rejected.

According to Marca, the Brazilian made himself available to the Catalan giants through his representatives as his contract at Anfield ends at the end of the season.
