EPL: JONES IDENTIFIES THE FOUR PLAYERS LAMPARD MUST REMOVE FROM CHELSEA BRIDGE IN PREPARATION FOR OSIMHEN'S ARRIVAL
In order to maximize his chances of acquiring Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the summer, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been instructed to loan out four of his team members.
Since Lampard was hired on an interim basis, it is not yet known if he will stay with the team after the season. However, football expert and editor of The Mirror Mark Jones advises whoever fills Lampard's position to put up with a loan move for David Datro Fofana, Carney Chukwuemeka, Lewis Hall, and Omari Hutchinson.
He added that after Denis Zakaria's loan agreement with Juventus expired, the Blues did not need to sign him on a permanent basis.
After their troubles in domestic tournaments this season, Chelsea recently fired Graham Potter, who had been their manager for just seven months, and hired Lampard to serve in an interim capacity.
Jones also pointed out that the Chelsea team needs to be rebuilt if it wants to compete for the Premier League championship the following season.
He wrote in his column for The Mirror: "So that's six out permanently, and I'd look at loaning out the likes of David Datro Fofana, Carney Chukwuemeka, Lewis Hall and Omari Hutchinson, while I'm not signing Denis Zakaria permanently after his loan deal. So that's 11 out."
He mentioned that Chelsea would like to add additional players to the attack given the presence of players like Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling, Noni Madueke, and Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The analyst then suggested that the owners of Stamford Bridge sign Joao Felix to a long-term contract with Atletico Madrid, "and then I'd go all out for Victor Osimhen from Napoli who is exactly the type of No.9 Chelsea are missing right now."
"In fact he'd probably take the No.9 shirt, but is good enough to lift the curse," he concluded.
