EPL: CHELSEA'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS SELECTS THE MANAGER WHO WILL SUCCEED LAMPARD
Chelsea co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart are said to have met with former Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann in person as the club looks for the next permanent manager to replace Frank Lampard.
According to The Times, Winstanley and Stewart are in charge of this process, and they eventually saw Nagelsmann last Thursday.
Chelsea had previously communicated with Nagelsmann and his agency, Sports360, but not in person.
Nonetheless, according to the report, Stewart and Chelsea technical director Christopher Vivell believe Nagelsmann would be a good fit for the post, while club sources stress no favored candidates have been identified.
Former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique, whom Chelsea had already met in person before to Lampard's appointment as interim manager, is thought to be still on the shortlist, along with former PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino, Napoli's Luciano Spalletti, and Sporting's Ruben Amorim.
