CHARLY BOY IS CONCERNED ABOUT LACK OF NEW NAIRA NOTES
Charles Oputa, alias Charly Boy, a veteran Nigerian singer, has raised the alarm that the freshly redesigned N1000, N500, and N200 notes have gone out of circulation.
According to MON DIARIES, the Supreme Court declared in March that the old form of the Naira notes will be lawful tender alongside the new Naira notes until December 31, 2023.
President Muhammadu Buhari's instruction for the redesign of new notes and removal of existing notes without adequate consultation, according to Emmanuel Agim, a member of the court's seven-man panel who read the lead judgement.
However, Charly Boy stated on his Twitter page that since the Supreme Court's verdict, only outdated notes have been circulating.
He posted a photo with the caption, "I nor dey see new naira notes again oo."
He captioned it, "Why why why? Can somebori tell me why?"
