ANOTHER BUILDING IN LAGOS HAS COLLAPSED
According to Mukaila Sanusi, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), the premises have been shut.
The spokeswoman accused the developer of ignoring the agency's "Stop work and Seal up orders" and continuing building.
Sanusi stated that the incident generated swift preliminary investigations, which revealed that authorities issued a number of infringement notices.
"The developer carried on construction without recourse to the authorities. There has been no report of any casualty, while the site has been cordoned off and taken over by LASBCA," he noted.
According to Sanusi, the newest fall, like others before it, reinforces the government's calls for responsible behavior on the part of all parties.
The Lagos Government, according to the agency, has launched additional investigations into the fall in order to elucidate the details and lead suitable steps.
The Apapa disaster happened just 24 hours after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu visited the site of the April 12 collapse at Banana Island, Ikoyi.
