UNN GRADUATES 14, 308 STUDENTS, 246 RECEIVE FIRST-CLASS HONORS
246 students from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN, have received First Class Honours.
Prof. Charles Igwe, Vice Chancellor of the University, made the announcement during a press conference at the institution's campus as part of activities planned for the institution's 50th convocation ceremony.
Igwe went on to say that 96 diplomas would be given out, as well as 2,482 postgraduate degrees from the university, including 618 doctorates and 1,690 master's degrees.
In terms of recent University developments, he stated that a number of infrastructure projects were undertaken or completed at the university's various campuses.
"Similarly, the second Class Honours (Upper Division) degree will be awarded to 5,092n graduands, while the Second Class Honours (Lower division) will be awarded to 7, 865 graduands.
"Similarly, 1,088 graduands will be awarded the Third Class degree, while 17 persons will earn a Pass degree."
He hinted that a number of departments and programs had been successfully accredited by the National University Commission, and that many employees had been promoted to various ranks, including professor.
Meanwhile, the VC announced that Monsignor Professor Obiora Ike, Executive Director of Globethics, would deliver the Convocation lecture tomorrow, Thursday, on the theme of 'Purpose-driven and values-driven higher education.'
