Peter Obi will speak when it is appropriate, according to VP candidate for the LP Baba-Ahmed, who urges restraint

Following the elections on Saturday, the Labour Party's (LP) vice presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed issued a calm plea and urged supporters to support the party in the governorship and house of assembly elections the following week.

Following the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) announcement on Saturday that Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had won the election, Baba-Ahmed made this statement at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

The Baba-Ahmed stated that his principal, Peter Obi, will respond when it is appropriate, despite the fact that the party has rejected the polls and that its followers believe the process was tainted.

He insisted that the election was not free and fair, but he told their supporters that they would seek legal remedies while urging restraint.

He questioned how the outcomes of the presidential and National Assembly elections were compiled in the absence of electronic transmission and urged the courts to demonstrate their objectivity when the matter is heard in court.

"No amount of pressure would get the Labour Party or its agents to preach against peace," he maintained. adding that despite the outcome of the poll, they still have hope in Nigeria.

He claims that the LP will continue to demand a fair and credible election from the President Muhammadu Buhari administration and is certain that things would go well on March 11 when the governor and house of assembly elections are held.

However, the LP vice presidential candidate denied rumors that it might unite with the People's Democratic Party (PDP). The party, he stressed, is fighting solely for its mandate.
