EX-GOVERNOR NNAMANI ACCEPTS LOSS AND CONGRATULATES THE NEWLY ELECTED LP SENATOR

Senator Chimaroke Nnamani has congratulated Senator-elect Sir Kelvin Chukwu of Enugu East District.


The former Governor of Enugu State lost his Senate re-election campaign.


Sir Kelvin Chukwu of the Labour Party defeated the candidacy of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.


The LP candidate received 69, 136 votes, outnumbering Nnamani of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who received 48, 701 votes.


In a congratulatory letter, Nnamani stated that the election outcome reflected the views of the majority of constituents, adding, "the people have spoken."


He explained that "The result of the election is in tandem with the rave of the moment in the South East zone who have identified with Labour Party. A contrary result would have negated the trend.


"I wish the Enugu East Senator-Elect a successful tenure in the upper legislative chamber."
