ELECTION SHOULDN'T BE A DO-OR-DIE AFFAIR - GOODLUCK JONATHAN

Goodluck Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has warned politicians to avoid do-or-die tactics ahead of this Saturday's elections for governor and state legislature.

He said that candidates for the Saturday elections shouldn't impose themselves on the populace.

At Sampou community in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Thursday, Jonathan delivered the warning immediately after visiting Governor Douye Diri to offer condolences for the death of his father, Pa Abraham Diri.

"Leadership is not by force. It is about serving the people. So, if you want to lead the people, you cannot kill them before you lead them," he stated.

With great anticipation that the elections will be free, fair, and transparent, governorship and house assembly elections will be held throughout Nigerian states.
