Ike Ekweremadu's ex-wife Beatrice testified in their organ harvesting case at the Central Criminal Court of England and Wales, popularly known as the Old Bailey, in London, on Tuesday. The case involves the two of them.

In the trial, Mrs. Ekweremadu and her husband are accused of conspiring with a man named Dr. Obinna Obeta to set up an unauthorized kidney transplant for their unwell daughter Sonia.

The couple allegedly planned to have a young trader from Lagos, Nigeria, age 21, transported to London so that his organ could be harvested.

But on Tuesday, as the trial entered its seventh week, a tearful Mrs. Ekweremadu took the testimony to defend her husband, saying, "My husband is a good man and I have come to trust him."

The plaintiff attempted to find out how much information Mrs Ekweremadu knew about who the alleged victim was.
