ATIKU, LIKE PETER OBI, IS HEADED TO THE TRIBUNAL TO CONTEST TINUBU'S VICTORY

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party's presidential candidate, has petitioned the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

Atiku is challenging the announcement of All Progressives Congress (APC) President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Labour Party (LP) and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, filed a similar suit before the Abuja tribunal.

They are also contesting Tinubu's election as the winner of the presidential election on February 25, 2023.

The petition's first to fourth respondents are the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Tinubu, his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, and the APC.

The petitioners want the tribunal to rule that Tinubu was not legitimately elected by a majority of votes cast during the election. They want an order for INEC to retrieve Tinubu's certificate of return.
