ADAMAWA STATE GUBERNATORIAL: FINTIRI AND THE PDP ARE PUTTING PRESSURE ON INEC TO DENY BINANI VICTORY – APC

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of attempting to undermine the electorate's will.

The National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, issued a statement Monday morning charging the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, with putting a stop to it.

The party also requested that security agencies pay close attention to "thuggery, violence, intimidation, and excessive pressure" in order to disrupt the final collation and announcement of the governorship election.

Faced with the "imminent and certain threat of loss," thugs purportedly commanded by Fintiri have unleashed armed thugs to disrupt further collation, according to the spokeswoman.

"The Governor is reported to have torn result sheets at the collation centre in a show of unprecedented impunity and executive brigandage."

Morka noted that results so far show "a clear and decisive victory for Senator Aishatu Dahiru (Binani)", its gubernatorial candidate.
