15 PEOPLE WERE INJURED AND 5 PEOPLE DIED IN AN ACCIDENT IN ENUGU STATE

Ghastly accident occured along enugu-akwa road on tuesday


On Thursday, a car accident on the Enugu-Awka-Onitsha Road claimed the lives of five people.


15 people, 10 men and 5 women, were critically injured in the accident, according to Mr. Joseph Toby, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Enugu State.


According to him, the two involved automobiles collided head-on while traveling in a single lane.


He continued by saying that the injured were transferred to a private hospital on the Enugu-Awka-Onitsha Expressway as well as the National Orthopaedic Hospital in Enugu.


According to Toby, the deceased's bodies were placed in the mortuary at the Colliery Hospital in Enugu.


He attributed the collision to poor lane discipline, excessive speed, and brake failure.


However, eyewitnesses attributed the tragedy to the poor condition of the road, which forced many drivers to travel against the flow of traffic than than utilize the dual-carriage way's failing lane.
