PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: ADEBOYE, OYEDEPO, AND OTHERS REMAIN SILENT

Four well-known pastors announce their candidacy for president, while Adeboye, Oyedepo, and others remain silent

Twenty-four hours to the Presidential election, some famous pastors and prophets in Nigeria have kept sealed lips.

Some well-known pastors and prophets in Nigeria have kept their mouths shut with just 24 hours to the presidential election.

According to the independent national electoral commission, inec, on saturday, february 25, 2023, the 93.5 million nigerians who have registered to vote will be able to pick between 18 candidates.

Bola Tinubu of the all progressives congress, atiku abubakar of the peoples democratic party, and peter obi of the labour party are the leading candidates in the much anticipated election.

Although being vociferous about the choice of party candidates and their running mates, the Christian Association of Nigeria, or CAN, has not been able to uniformly support a candidate.

Remember how the Christian organization protested the ruling party's decision to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 election, bemoaning how the party had disregarded the Northern Christians.

Some Nigerian pastors, including Muhammadu Buhari and Yemi, who accurately predicted President Osinbajo's victories in 2015 and 2019, have been mum about Nigeria's likely next leader.

Recall that Pastors Tunde Bakare, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, and Sunday Adelaja supported President Muhammadu Buhari and Professor Yemi Osinbajo's candidacies in 2015.

Osinbajo was prayed for at the church, and he was advised to continue being a good representative of the church while in government, despite the fact that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, had in 2015 refuted rumors that he had sponsored any candidate.

Osinbajo, who is Adeboye's spiritual son, said in 2017 that Adeboye, one of the most powerful figures in the world, had given him the go-ahead to accept Buhari's invitation to serve as his running mate in 2015.

The February 25 presidential election, however, is just one day away, and Adeboye, who previously urged Nigerians to prepare their Permanent Voter Cards, or PVCs, said he might advise people on who to vote for if God revealed the victor to him before the polls, said that it is still possible. He has, however, avoided talking about it.

The priest had also cautioned Nigerians not to believe anyone who was foretelling the potential winner of the 2023 elections during the RCCG's monthly Holy Ghost Service in January at the church's international headquarters.

He said the person was lying because God had not said anything about it.

Adeboye is one of the pastors in the nation who has repeatedly criticized several of the policies of the Buhari-led government, though.

Bishop David Oyedepo, General Overseer of Living Faith Church, is another pastor who has vehemently criticized the existing administration but has not yet endorsed a candidate for the election on Saturday.

The well-known man of God had warned politicians that Nigeria is not a property up for sale and encouraged Nigerians to exercise good judgment before casting their ballots in the 2023 elections on Sunday.

He urged the electorate to select a leader with ability and moral integrity.

These preachers have supported the following candidates.

Apostle Johnson Suleman

The founder of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, declared on Sunday that he and his family would support Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Suleman also advised Nigerians to abstain from voting for candidates that have ties to the nation's terrorism, tribalism, and intolerance.

Pastor Paul Enenche

Peter Obi has been endorsed as the candidate for the election on Saturday by Pastor Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre.

Enenche urged Nigerians to back Peter Obi for his honesty, genuineness, and integrity during a sermon.

The well-known clergyman asked his followers to support the third candidate in the race, who he claimed has the ability to save the nation from its current problems, even though he made no reference of a specific candidate by name.

He pleaded with Nigerians to abstain from voting for members of the two largest political parties, the APC and PDP.

The pastor uploaded a photo of Peter Obi and urged Nigerians to support him in the forthcoming election in a follow-up tweet on his Twitter page.

Pastor Odumeje

Chukwuemeka Odumeje, a well-liked preacher from Onitsha, has endorsed Peter Obi for president in 2022.

According to the clergyman, who has been supporting the LP candidate, Lagos State is what it is today thanks to the investment of Igbo people who live and work there.

He claimed that Atiku and Tinubu had no ideas for Nigeria and that only Peter Obi was capable of reviving the nation.

Chris Oyakhilome

General Overseer of Christ Embassy Chris Oyakhilome hinted last week that Peter Obi is his favorite presidential candidate.

Oyakhilome informed his followers that the name of the upcoming president of Nigeria was revealed to him by God.

He made no mention of names, but the Bible does mention Peter.
