YAHOO BOY ARRESTED FOR MURDERING HIS GIRLFRIEND

Yahoo kid was detained after killing his girlfriend by assaulting her because she wouldn't give up the money his "customer" had deposited into her account.

Police officers in Ogun State have detained Obeta John, 27, a suspected yahoo boy, for reportedly killing his girlfriend, Idowu Buhari, in the state's Eredu Ishara region.

The suspect was taken into custody on November 29 after Ode-Remo divisional headquarters received a distress call.

He allegedly locked the deceased, a Gateway Polytechnic Saapade HND1 Mass Communication student, inside his room and forced her to commit suicide.

SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the command's spokeswoman, said in a statement on November 30 that when officers arrived at the location, they found the body in a pool of blood.

"On interrogation, the suspect, Obeta John, informed the police that he is an internet fraudster, and that certain amount of money from one of his clients was paid into the account of his deceased girlfriend which she refused to relinquish to him.

He stated further that it was the argument over the said money that led to scuffle between them which eventually led to the death of the girl," the spokesperson said.
