MOM OF TWO IS DETAINED AFTER HER 11-MONTH-OLD KID WAS ACCUSED OF "DISTURBING" HER

Mrs. Blessing Eno, a mother of two, has been detained by the police in Cross River State on suspicion of beating her 11-month-old son in the Yonen community of Ugep, Yakurr LGA.

The tragic incident happened on Tuesday, November 29. According to reports, the suspect, who may have schizophrenia (a mental disorder), pulled out a match and cut off the baby's head. claimed that the boy was bothering her and that a spirit had told her to slay him.

According to reports, it was her eight-year-old son who stumbled upon the grisly sight of his headless brother, and a mother who had been drenched in blood who then raised the alarm, drawing neighbors to the crime scene.

However, the police's quick action in removing the woman into protective custody and transporting her outside of Ugep prevented an angry crowd from extrajudicially murdering the woman there.

Irene Ugbo, the state police command's spokesperson, confirmed the arrest and said: "It is truly tragic and devastating; she is already in protective custody, but the matter will undoubtedly be presented to Calabar."
