ENUGU YOUTH LEADER RETURNS N10,000,000 THAT WAS SENT TO HIS ACCOUNT IN ERROR
On December 9, 2022, the money was sent to him in Enugu.
Comrade Okoh explained to Newsmen in Enugu that he understands what it means to lose such a large sum of money because he is a businessman, adding out that it is his responsibility as a youth leader to keep moral standards and lead by example.
Since it wasn't his money, he claimed that when the incident occurred, he did not hesitate to return it because he knew that the trauma of losing such a sum of money may lead someone to lose his life or suffer from a terminal illness.
In his opinion, "the money came at a time! really needed it but I knew it wasn't mine and nobody could have sent such to me as at the time it was sent."
"I did not even think twice about returning it because, it was not mine"
I had to call my account officer to trace where the money was from and to know if he knew any person by the name Robert Anwatu."
When asked how he felt after returning the money, Hon okoh responded that because he comes from a Christian household in Uhuona Ugbawka, he felt satisfied and at peace.
"I feel super excited and good! feel fulfilled because, I came from a family in Uhuona Ugbawka, where we are known to be principled
"Also as a Leader, should lead by example. I know that, no matter how rich the owner of the money is, loosing such amount will definitely affect his business and probably his mental health."
"I also know that the account officers might loose their Jobs too for making such a dangerous mistake. So had to do everything possible to save the situation."
According to reports, Chief Robert Anwatu, the proprietor of Roban shops, called Hon. Okoh and conveyed his sincere gratitude.
