DG OF PETER OBI'S LABOR PARTY, OKUPE, AND TEN OTHERS ARE FIRED

Doyin Okupe, the director general of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council, has been fired by the Labour Party in Ogun State.

Okupe was fired along with 10 other people for suspected highhandedness, financial irresponsibility, and non-financial membership status.

Michael Ashade, the party's chairman in Ogun State, announced the decision of the organization on Thursday in Abeokuta, claiming that the offenses violated the constitution of the Labour Party.

Okupe, according to Ashade, no longer belongs to the LP due to his *failure to meet the mandatory constitutional requirements to fulfill membership status."
He claimed that Okupe had not paid his dues for the Labour Party since the last six months of when he joined, and that as a result, he has forfeited his membership and is no longer qualified to serve as the Director General of Obi's campaign council.

He claimed that Article 9(3) sub(iii) and Article 9(3) xi of the LP constitution are violated by Okupe and the other 10 defendants.

He charged Okupe with misusing the monies authorized for the LP in Ogun to organize supporters for the rally staged in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, last week.

They urged Obi to pick another DC for the PCC from the North right away while informing the LP National Chairman, Barr Julius Abure of their choice.

Since calls to Okupe's mobile phone were unanswered, it was impossible to contact him for his reactions.

As of the time of this report, he also did not reply to a text message that was sent to him.

Okupe is from Ogun State's Ikenne Local Government Area.
