JAMES FROM CHELSEA REACTED AFTER BEING LEFT OUT OF THE ENGLAND SQUAD IN QATAR 2022
Right-back for Chelsea Reece James expressed his "devastation" at not being selected for the England World Cup team.
The defender is not included in the 26-man roster put together by England manager Gareth Southgate.
Midway through October, James, who was vying to become England's first-choice right-back, suffered a knee injury.
"Devastated," wrote James on Twitter.
"The minute I injured my knee, I knew the turnaround to make the World Cup would be tight, but I always felt it was possible.
"I've worked harder than I ever thought I could to give myself the best chance of going and truly believe I could help the team.
"I appreciate there was risk on both sides but it was one I was willing to take. Good luck to the boys. I'll be back soon. Stay safe & send love."
He claimed that as soon as he suffered the injury, he realized it would be challenging to heal and rejoin the England team.
For the right-back position, Southgate has chosen Kieran Trippier, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Kyle Walker.
