A FRIED FISH TRADER COMPENSATED AFTER REPORTING A GOAT IN MAIDUGURI

Police in Borno State have released a sheep and her two lambs who were detained for consuming fried fish belonging to a seafood vendor in Maiduguri's Bulabulin neighborhood.

The arrest was reportedly made on Saturday, November 6, 2022, in response to a complaint filed by a local fish vendor named Yusuf Ibrahim.

The enraged trader, who demanded redress, complained that the sheep in question had terrified him for years by playing hide and seek with him and his stock. According to him, the sheep would wait for him to be distracted before quickly grabbing a mouthful of the fish until he or the onlookers would realize and chase it away.

He claimed he put up with the sheep's disruptive behavior for five years and repeatedly begged the owner to intervene by tying and feeding the sheep, all to no avail. However, on Saturday, he said, the action had finally reached its breaking point because it had resulted in him suffering significant financial losses. However, he didn't decide to call the police until the sheep invaded his fish on Saturday, when it was then that the sheep was captured and held overnight.

The sheep's owner, Luba Mohammed, admitted she was baffled when the animal started to enjoy fried fish and begged to be let go. After Ibrahim and the property's owner came to an agreement, the suspects were freed on Sunday by the Bulabulin Divisional Police Headquarters.
