"WE WILL REPAY IN GOOD TURN" - ENUGU TEACHERS TO GOV. UGWUANYI

We will reward your good deeds with our votes, Enugu teachers tell Gov. Ugwuanyi

Jubilant secondary school principals and teachers from Enugu State's Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB) converged on the Government House in Enugu yesterday to celebrate and thank Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for the exceptional attention his administration has paid to their well-being and the education sector.

They emphasized that, unlike some states in the country, Gov. Ugwuanyi's administration has been consistent in paying their salaries, and has implemented numerous sterling reforms in the education sector that have repositioned the sector and earned Enugu State laurels in the country and beyond.

The teachers expressed their delight at the governor's remarkable achievements in education and other sectors across the state, despite the state's limited resources and the challenges that the country has faced since he took office.

As a result, they gave Gov. Ugwuanyi their full support and pledged to vote for him to represent Enugu North Senatorial District in the National Assembly in 2023 on the Peoples Democratic Party platform (PDP).

The principals and teachers, led by the new Chairman of the PPSMB, Dr. Mrs. Favour Ugwuanyi, told the governor that they fully support Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as the PDP's governorship candidate in the 2023 general election.

They assured him that they would vote for Barr as well. Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, Mbah's running mate, and all other PDP candidates in the state.

The principals and teachers expressed gratitude to Gov. Ugwuanyi for reconstituting the PPSMB and bringing in intellectuals with proven track records, and stated that their positive impact is already being felt in the state's education sector.

Mr. Robert Okolie, Chairman of the Enugu State Association of Nigerian Conference of Principals of Schools (ANCOPS), stated that Enugu State's recent ranking as first among public secondary schools in Nigeria that presented candidates for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examination in 2021 was due to Gov. Ugwuanyi's investment in the education sector.
