PETER OBI: "NIGERIA'S PRESIDENCY IS NOT A RETIREMENT HOME"

The country's presidency is not a place for retirement, according to Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party's (LP) presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, the respective presidential candidates for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), were deemed by him to be too weak and worn out to properly govern the nation.

In Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, during the flag-off ceremony for his presidential campaign, Obi explained, "Aso Rock is a seat of power for energetic and vibrant people to live and tackle the huge problems facing the country."

He declared that he and his running mate are prepared and determined to serve Nigeria and restore her back to prominence because he believed that the president should only go to people who are patriotic and ready for the job.

The Labour Party's nominee for president outlined how his administration would put an emphasis on moving the nation away from consumption toward production, adding that farmers would go back to their operations and that young people would have jobs.

He assured Nigerians that the Labour Party administration will find solutions to their problems and warned them not to support those who would steal their money and turn government into a retirement home.

"It's not going to be over night but we will tackle insecurity and return farmers to their farms," he declared.
