"I HAVE NO PLAN TO APPEAL COURT JUDGEMENT" - LAWAN SAYS

The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has denied reports that he has reversed his earlier decision not to appeal the Federal High Court Damaturu decision that voids his candidacy.

In a statement issued through his media aide, Ola Awoniyi, Lawan called the report a "utter falsehood."

"It is just another fabrication by the discredited habitual purveyor of fake and malicious news - Sahara Reporters", the statement further said.

The statement also stated that if anyone is dissatisfied and decides to challenge the court's decision, it has nothing to do with the Senate President.

"For the umpteenth time, we want to emphasize that the Senate President has no intention to appeal against the court judgement", the statement emphasized.

According to the statement the Senate President has made his own position public and has since moved on. "He is a man of his words."

As a result, it urged members of the public to treat the fake report with the contempt it deserved.

Recall that the Yobe State chapter of the APC has reportedly pledged to appeal the Federal High Court's decision naming Bashir Machina as the Yobe North Senatorial candidate.
