FRANK LAMPARD COMPARES RONALDO TO MESSI
After Manchester United's 2-1 win over Everton, Lampard compares Ronaldo to Messi
Following his side's 2-1 Premier League defeat to Manchester United on Sunday, Everton manager Frank Lampard compared Cristiano Ronaldo to Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain.
Lampard was present when Ronaldo scored his 700th club goal against Everton at Goodison Park.
Ronaldo had been on 699 club goals since September 15, but his 700th came against Everton as he scored Man United's second goal of the night.
In his post-match press conference, Lampard praised Ronaldo as one of the greatest players in history, adding that he and Messi are both incredible players in football history.
He believes that comparing Ronaldo and Messi is pointless because they are both incredible.
"He is one of the greatest players that has graced the game, ever, in an era when we have had himself and Lionel Messi," Lampard said.
"The comparison between them doesn't matter; they are both incredible players in football history.
"The numbers they have racked up, abnormal numbers that have become normal. When he was on 699, I wanted him to score in the Europa League [against Omonia] the other night, but it wasn't to be."
