EID-UL-MAULUD: DECLARES MONDAY A PUBLIC HOLIDAY
The federal government has designated Monday, October 10, 2022, as a public holiday.
Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of Interior, said in a statement on Thursday, October 6, that it is to mark this year's Eid-ul-Maulud Celebration in commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)
Aregbesola congratulated all Muslims, both at home and abroad, on witnessing this year's event and urged all Nigerians to embrace the spirit of love. Patience, tolerance, and perseverance are deep spiritual virtues that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) exemplified, and doing so would ensure the country's peace, security, and harmony.
He calls on Nigerians, particularly Muslims, to abstain from violence, lawlessness, and other criminal acts.
"As the indisputable leader of our race, we must demonstrate responsible leadership in Africa," he said
