ADEBUTU AND AKINLADE ARE NOT ON THE LIST OF OGUN GOV CANDIDATES

The name of Hon. Ladi Adebutu, the factional People's Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Ogun State, is missing from the list of candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC).

His running mate's name, Adekunle Akinlade, is also missing.

Thirteen political parties nominated candidates for the governorship seat, including the All Progressives Congress (APC) and People's Democratic Party (PDP), but only 12 of them were listed.

The names of candidates for the 2023 governorship race have been released by the APC, African Democratic Congress (ADC), Social Democratic Congress (SDP), New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), National Rescue Movement (NRM), People's Redemption Party (PRP), African Democratic Party (ADP), Allied People's Movement (APM), APP, A, AA, and AAC.

The Labour Party (LP) does not have a candidate for governor.

It is unclear whether the names of Adebutu and Akinlade of the PDP were removed from the list by INEC in response to a recent court ruling delivered by a Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, which nullified Ogun State PDP primaries.

The court also ordered the PDP to hold new primaries in the state in order to accommodate all interests.

It also directed INEC not to recognize Ladi Adebutu as the PDP's governorship candidate in the State in the 2023 governorship election.
