Three brothers were arrested in Kebbi for fatally beating their neighbor over a motorcycle

Police in Kebbi State have arrested three brothers for allegedly beating to death a neighbor, Abbas Abubakar, after accusing him of stealing their motorcycle in Birnin Kebbi town.

According to reports, the suspects, Abubakar Ahmed, Ubaidu Ahmed, and Halilu Ahmed, took Abubakar to their home, tied him with a rape, and beet him to coma.

SP Nafiu Abubakar, the command's spokesperson, said in a statement on Friday, September 23, that the deceased was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

He stated that the unfortunate incident occurred on September 14, 2022.

Culprits

According to him, on the said day, the suspects conspired and went to the residence of one Sanusi Abubakar and demanded that he call his junior brother, Abbas Abubakar A.K.A Zabi, on their behalf, because they suspected him of stealing their motorcycle, a Haojue Roba-Roba.

"When Abbas Abubakar was called, the suspects took him to their house, tied him with a rape and beet him up to a state of coma. On the same date at about 1430hrs, the suspects took the said Abbas Abubakar in their motor vehicle to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Birnin Kebbi. Hence, they were instantly arrested and the victim was rushed to Sir Yahaya memorial hospital, Birnin Kebbi, where he was confirmed deed by a medical doctor," the declaration stated.
