SEVEN PEOPLE WERE KILLED IN A FIRE THAT GUTTED A COMMERCIAL BUS IN LAGOS
On Sunday, September 26, seven people were burned to death when a 14-passenger commercial bus caught fire near the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State.
The bus was a Mazda with the registration number KJA 699 GY, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
According to reports, the incident occurred due to the driver's recklessness and speeding, which resulted in the fire, with 12 passengers reportedly trapped.
Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, said in a statement that while the driver escaped with minor burns, three female adults were rescued and rushed to Gbagada General Hospital, while a male adult was treated at the scene by LASAMBUS.
However, seven people were killed in the bus, including four females, two male adults, and one male child.
