In Anambra, the only son hacks his parents to death over money

Mr and Mrs Micheal Ulor, a Nigerian couple, were killed after being attacked by their only son in Nnewi, Anambra State.

The suspect, identified only as Chukwudi, 21, allegedly attacked his parents with a machete at their home on St Peter Road in Nnewichi Nnewi.

On Thursday evening, the couple's decomposing bodies were discovered inside their apartment with machete cuts. September 22, 2022, three days after the suspects are said to have murdered them.

According to reports, the incident began when the deceased refused to give the suspect money. He was reported to have hacked them to death before fleeing to an unknown location.

Neighbors reportedly discovered the bodies after noticing an offensive odor coming from their bedroom. It was also claimed that Chukwudi is a drug addict who regularly consumes Mkpurummiri (Methamphetamine).

In a statement issued on Friday, September 23, the state police command's spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident: "The commissioner of police, CP Echeng Echeng, has ordered an immediate manhunt of the suspect.

"He further directed the immediate transfer of the case to State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation."
