"OKADA RIDERS ARE SLEEPING WITH OUR WIVES" - POLICER OFFICERS
"Okada riders are sleeping with our wives," police officers say as they protest an unpaid salary of 18 months
Personnel from the Nigeria Police Special Constabulary stormed the streets of Osogbo, Osun State, on Wednesday, September 7, to protest the non-payment of their 18-month salary.
Protesting officers converged on the Old-Garage area, marching through Oke-Fia and Alekuwodo before storming the Ola-lya flyover to express their displeasure with the unpaid allowances.
Following their training in April 2021, the constabularies recruited to supplement the police structure by providing intelligence, among other things, were inaugurated in May 2021 at Police Headquarters in Osun State.
According to reports, they carried placards with various inscriptions such as 'Pay our salary now': 'Okada riders are sleeping with our horses.'
