Ime Udoka, the Nigerian NBA coach, is facing disciplinary action for cheating on his wife with a staff member

According to ESPN, Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka is facing disciplinary action that could include a significant suspension for his role in a consensual, intimate relationship with a woman on the franchise's staff.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Udoka's misconduct included, "improper intimate and consensual relationship" with a woman who was on the Celtics' staff. The relationship was deemed a violation of the organization's policies, and a decision on the length of the suspension is expected as soon as Thursday, according to sources.

While no final decision has been made, sources said that internal discussions have included scenarios that would keep Udoka out for the entire 2022-23 season. Udoka's job is not believed to be in jeopardy.

Udoka joined the Celtics last summer after working as an assistant coach with the San Antonio Spurs, Philadelphia 76ers, and Brooklyn Nets following his NBA playing career.
