FG RELEASES JUST N6.3 BILLION FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF CATTLE RANCHES IN KATSINA STATE
Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, the deputy governor of Katsina State, claims that the federal government has granted N6.25 billion for the construction of cattle ranches in local government areas of the state that have experienced banditry.
This information was revealed by Yakubu, who is also the commissioner for agriculture and rural development, on Monday during the Ranch Stakeholders Development Meeting in Katsina.
He included Jibia, Batsari, Dutsinma, Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Faskari, and Sabuwa Dandume among additional frontline local government areas where grazing reserves would be formed.
In the impacted villages, he said, a portion of the funding would be utilized to build schools, health facilities, and veterinary clinics. The state government would hire respectable contractors to manage the projects, the deputy governor stated.
In areas beset by banditry, cattle rustling, kidnapping, and other crimes, he claimed that the federal and state governments were committed to seeing that peace and stability were restored.
