BRODA MIKE: EDO COMEDIAN ARRESTED BY DSS RELEASED ON BAIL

A High Court of justice sitting in Benin, the Edo State capital, has granted bail to the comedian and vlogger, Chukwu Emeka

Emeka, who is professionally known as 'Broda Mike, was arrested by the Department of State Services for making 'inciting' comments.

Matthew Osa-oghogho, the lawyer who later is defending Broda Mike in court, announced the release of the comedian on his Facebook account on Tuesday.

"Today, the High Court of justice sitting in Benin released Comedian Emeka Chukwu, Broda Mike, to bail," he wrote.

"He was arrested by the Department of State Services and accused of inciting the public. The court agreed with our submission that the application for the remand of Mr Chukwu is unmeritous and, therefore, admitted him to bail.
