N47 BILLION FRAUD: EFCC QUIZZES, DETAINS EX-NDDC MD, NSIMA EKERE

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Nsima Ekere, in connection with a probe of N47 billion contracts.

The contracts were allegedly awarded between 2017 and 2019.

It was learnt that Ekere got wind of a close up on him by EFCC and voluntarily reported at the Lagos office of the commission.

A top source in the commission, who spoke in confidence. said: "This commission is investigating alleged diversion of N47 billion through registered contractors of NDDC.

"Ekere is undergoing interrogation and we have detained him."
