WHERE IS LAI MOHAMMED

On Thursday, an aide of Lai Muhammed revealed that the minister of information, Lai Muhammed is not currently in Nigeria and that is the reason why the minister has not been able to respond or release a statement after the report of the Lagos state panel.

Segun Adeyemi, an aide or Lai Muhammed on Thursday stated that "Minister of Information and Culture, Lal Mohammed, is currently out of Nigeria on an official assignment and will soon react to the report of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses and other matters."

"The minister is out of the country (Nigeria) on assignment. Expect our response shortly.*

Meanwhile, the aide of Lai Muhammed did not reveal the country Lai Muhammed traveled to or when he would be back to Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Punch News reported that Lai Mohammed has been in the news in recent months over the statement he made against the massacre that allegedly took place at Lekki toll gate.

The report states that the Lagos panel inaugurated by Babajide Sanwo- Olu had revealed what happened at Lekki toll gate during last year's protest in Lagos. The report has, however, been sent for proper consideration and implementation by a new panel set up by the Lagos state government.

Also in a reaction to the Lagos panel report, the commissioner for information for Lagos state, Gbenga Omotoso said that " Lagos State Government has noted the various reactions that have followed the submission of the report of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Restitution for Victims of SARS Related Abuses and Other Matters. There have been arguments in the public space over the report. "

There is need for us to restrain ourselves from nullifying the good intentions of the government in setting up this Panel, which was well encouraged to do its job- a fact that was acknowledged by the Panel. By the Tribunal of Inquiry Law 2015, a committee has been set up to bring up a White Paper on the report to determine the next line of action. "

"At the appropriate time, the Government will make known its views on all the issues raised by the Panel through the release of a White Paper. "

He added that the public is waiting patiently to know the next action or step of the government after the report of the EndSars panel was published.
