VANDALS NOT BANDITS ATTACKED ABUJA KADUNA TRAIN - NRC MD

The managing director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Fidel Okhiria, has claimed vandals, not bandits, are responsible for the attack on a train service along the Abuja-Kaduna track.

Okhiria stated this while speaking to newsmen on Thursday.

He confirmed that parts of the train track were destroyed in the attack.

According to him, an investigation has began to determine what really happened on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

An explosion led to the shutdown of the engine of the train. A backup train had to convey the passengers at about 12:15am to Rigasa train station in Kaduna.
